As I'm writing this post, I am also watching the Super Bowl, so if anything I write doesn't make sense, thats why.
Today my dad and I went Downriver Ducking with Lambton Wildlife Inc. This is always one of my favorite LWI events, it is always a good one! On the drive there, we counted 9 Red-tailed Hawks, and a Cooper's Hawk.
This went quite well, with a total of 16 people were there at some point. We started out by going to the Government Docks looking for the lone Green-winged Teal that has been there for over a month! Also there was a nice
Am. Black Duck x Mallard Hybrid. Then went off to the lighthouse as usual, nothing much there, a few Common Goldeneye flying around and a bunch of Long-tailed Ducks out there too. Next was to the bridge in search of the Peregrines. Within minutes of getting there, they were both found! FINALLY! This was the 6th time I've been there this year and first time I've seen them! They were within a couple meters of each other too!
Soon after we headed down river in our big convoy of cars! Down river, within the first few stops, I had seen about 15'ish Glaucous Gulls, Many Greater Black-backed's, a couple White-winged Scoters, and new species, a pair of Gadwall, and a Northern Pintail.
Later down river also of interest many more Glaucous and Greater B-B's, at leased one Iceland Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, and a possible
Herring Gull x Greater Black-backed Gull Hybrid.
Also got this on the way home.
So with those 3 plus the Red-shouldered Hawk I got 3 days ago, my Lambton Big
Year total is now 83 +
2 Hybrids.
